This show will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceeding in America in more than 100 years. She was the star of two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her days between Los Angeles and New York.
